Radio Reading Service
Radio Reading provides service to individuals who are blind, visually impaired or otherwise print impaired. Harrisburg Area Radio Reading Service (HARRS) is a special frequency radio station that enables listeners to hear news, broadcasts of special events and other programming through the HARRS radio station.

The station functions as a sub-carrier of WITF-89.5 FM. HARRS, a volunteer run radio station, provides programming 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Local programming focuses on local news and events. The Patriot news is read “live” Monday – Friday. We rebroadcast “The Patriot News” each day from 3-5 PM. Throughout the week we offer programs that range from health related publications to our children’s show “Kids Corner”.

The NY Times, the Wall Street Journal and other informative programs can also be heard through “In Touch” our affiliate station in New York. Other services available through the Radio Reading department include the Talking Books program. HARRS partners with the “Free” Library for Blind and Physically Handicapped Persons in Philadelphia, Pa, to act as a distributing agent of cassette players. The Library also offers other reading materials on cassette and in large print.

For more information on the Radio Program and Talking books please contact Joyce Marshall, at or call 717-238-2531.
